Cold Formed Buildings

The metal building industry is changing! Traditional metal buildings have been around for decades and consist of red iron frames and red iron substructural members. The frames are fabricated and welded together in a time and labor-consuming process. Fortunately, there is an alternative - Cold-Formed Buildings!

Cold Formed Building Advantages

Cold Formed Metal Buildings represent a great opportunity for both progressive contractors and building owners.  Advantages range from end-user preference over conventional red-iron, welded buildings to lower man-hours to install, which is especially important in today's tight labor market.

Shorter Lead Times

Conventional metal buildings are notorious for long lead times due to the fabrication process. Cold Formed buildings are constructed entirely with roll-formed components, eliminating the need to fabricate and weld frames. The end-result is lower lead times!

20% - 25% Less Concrete

Cold Formed buildings spread the loads out over multiple frame lines, resulting in smaller loads at each column. As a result, foundations can utilize post installed anchors and don’t require footings that are labor intensive to frame and require multiple visits to pour. This results in a more efficient foundation design in both labor and material, which saves money.

No Pre-Set Anchor Bolts!

Traditional metal buildings require structural slabs and footings, requiring multiple pours, to carry the load of columns. Anchor bolts need to be pre-set into the slab to accommodate columns.

Quicker Installation

For Contractors, time is money! With cold formed buildings your crews can quickly complete a project and move on to the next one. For building owners, Cold Formed Buildings represent a quicker completion and move-in.

Precise Components - Reduced Onsite Notching and fabrication

Cold Formed Buildings are constructed with roll formed components that are weld-free, In addition, job site fabrication is minimal resulting in a fresh, clean visual appearance.

No Unsightly Welds and Blemishes

Traditional metal buildings are blemished with weld lines and scarring right out of the factory.  And, additional job site welding and fabrications contribute even more unsightly blemishes. For open interiors, this creates a less than ideal visual appearance.

Precise, Roll Formed Components

Cold Formed Buildings are comprised of roll formed parts, so no unsightly welds. In addition, cold formed buildings require little, if any, job site fabrication so buildings have a fresh, clean visual appearance.

Improved Aesthetics For Open Interiors

Traditional red iron frames have visible weld seams and manufacturing blemishes. Red coating is not a finish coat, but designed to somewhat protect raw steel during the manufacturing process and also camouflage corrosion.

Cold Formed buildings are manufactured from Galvanized material, offering a clean appearance and barrier to combat corrosion.
