Frequently Asked Questions

The questions below address common considerations and help guide product selection for your project.

What does the HighLine insulated wall panel profile look like?
The HighLine insulated metal panel features a ribbed exterior profile with pronounced major ribs and smaller intermediate stiffening ribs across a 36-inch coverage. This profile adds visual depth to the wall while maintaining the thermal efficiency and installation speed typical of insulated metal panel systems.
Where are HighLine insulated panels commonly used?
HighLine insulated panels are commonly used on commercial and industrial buildings where both thermal performance and a durable ribbed architectural appearance are desired. Typical applications include manufacturing facilities, warehouses, distribution centers, and commercial buildings.
Do I have to start installation at one edge?
Yes. Based on the lap pattern, you will need to install HighLine panels in a consistent left to right/right to left manner.
What R-value can I achieve with HighLine panels?
HighLine insulated metal roof panels provide a nominal R-value of approximately R-8 per inch of thickness. Panels are available in thicknesses from 1 1/2" to 4", allowing total thermal performance from roughly R-12 to R-32, depending on project requirements.
What type and thickness of insulation does HighLine include?
HighLine panels feature 1 1/2" to 4" of factory-foamed polyisocyanurate insulation. The foam is continuously poured in place during manufacturing, bonding the interior and exterior steel facings to create a rigid, durable panel with consistent thermal performance across its entire surface.
How does the insulation perform over time?
The polyisocyanurate insulation in HighLine panels is factory-foamed in place, producing a consistent, closed-cell structure that maintains stable R-values throughout the panel’s service life when properly installed.
Is HighLine compatible with other McElroy panel systems?
Yes. HighLine integrates easily with McElroy’s other panels, trim, flashing, and accessory components for complete roof envelope solutions.
