Frequently Asked Questions

The questions below address common considerations and help guide product selection for your project.

How does Met-Tile compare to traditional clay tile?
Met-Tile offers a similar appearance but is significantly lighter, more impact-resistant, and faster to install, reducing both structural requirements and labor costs.
Can Met-Tile be installed over open framing?
No. Met-Tile must be installed over a solid deck to ensure proper performance and attachment.
What slope is required for Met-Tile roofing?
A minimum slope of 1 1/2:12 is required with sealant. For installations without sealant, a 3:12 slope is recommended.
What makes Met-Tile a good option in storm-prone areas?
Its steel construction provides superior impact resistance (UL Class 4) and durability compared to traditional tile systems.
