Trap-Tee Metal-Over-Metal Recover Top 3 Benefits

  1. No Tear-Off Required: Installs directly over existing metal roofs—saving time, labor, and disposal costs.

  2. Symmetrical Panel Design: Allows individual panel replacement anywhere on the roof and enables repairs or future modifications without disturbing adjacent panels.

  3. Long-Length Panels and Onsite Rollforming: Single-piece panels up to 250 feet long eliminate lap joints; onsite rollforming reduces damage risk, shipping limits, and storage needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions below address common considerations and help guide product selection for your project.

What makes Trap-Tee different from traditional trapezoidal panels?
Trap-Tee features a symmetrical rib design that allows for individual panel replacement, eliminating one of the biggest service challenges of older trapezoidal systems.
Can Trap-Tee be used for both new and recover applications?
Yes. Trap-Tee is equally well-suited for metal-over-metal recover, remove-and-replace retrofits, and new construction.
How long are Trap-Tee panels available?
Panels can be rollformed onsite up to 250 feet long, eliminating leak-prone end laps.
What slope is required?
Trap-Tee can be installed on slopes as low as ¼:12, making it ideal for low-slope metal roof conversions.
What paint systems are available?
The standard finish is Kynar 500® (PVDF) for maximum color stability and durability; acrylic-coated Galvalume® is available for budget-conscious applications.
